Privacy policy

Two things, both of which are ordinary and neither of which identifies you.

• Standard server request logs. Serving a web page requires receiving a request. The hosting provider records the usual technical details — the page requested, a timestamp, a response code, a browser user-agent string and an IP address — for security, abuse prevention and diagnosing errors. These are retained briefly and are not used to build a profile.
• Aggregate, cookie-free usage counts, where analytics is enabled. This records that a page was viewed, not who viewed it. No cookie is set, no cross-site identifier is used, and nothing is sold or shared with advertisers.

• No name, email address or any other contact detail, unless you choose to write to us.
• No account, because there is no account system.
• No brokerage connection, no portfolio access and no trade execution. Ever.
• No positions. What you type into the calculator is not sent to this site.
• No advertising or tracking cookies, and no third-party trackers.
• No fingerprinting, and no cross-site identifiers.

When live market data is enabled, requesting a quote sends the ticker symbol to the market data provider, because there is no other way to ask for a price. The strike prices, quantities and structure of your position are not sent — only the symbol.

Saved calculations are written to your browser’s local storage under a single key. That data:

• Never leaves your device.
• Is not readable by this site’s servers, because it is never transmitted.
• Is not synced to any other device or browser.
• Is deleted when you clear your browser’s site data, or when you delete the entries from the saved page.

The practical consequence is worth stating plainly, because it cuts both ways: this is why your saved calculations are private, and also why they will not follow you to your phone. If you want a calculation to survive, copy its share link.

A share link encodes the whole position in the URL. Nothing is stored on a server to make it work, which means no record of the position exists here, and the link keeps working indefinitely without anything being kept about it.

It also means the position is visible to anyone who has the link, and to anything that logs URLs along the way — a chat platform, an email scanner, a browser history shared with a colleague. Share links carry the strikes, premiums and quantities in readable form. Treat one like a screenshot of your trade, because that is effectively what it is.

• Hosting. The site is served by a hosting provider that necessarily processes requests to deliver pages. They act as a processor for that purpose only.
• Market data. When live data is enabled, ticker symbols are sent to the data provider to retrieve quotes. See the market data disclosure.
• Natural-language input. If you use a feature that interprets a trade described in plain English, the text you type is sent to a language model provider to be turned into calculator fields. Do not include personal or account information in it. The calculation itself is still performed here, deterministically.

No data is sold, rented or shared with advertisers under any circumstances.

Because almost nothing is collected, most data rights resolve to something you can do yourself immediately:

• See what is held about you: your saved calculations, on the saved page. That is the complete set.
• Delete it: the delete button on any saved calculation, or clearing your browser’s site data. Both are immediate and permanent.
• Export it: copy the share link for any calculation. It contains the entire position.
